BaselineEdit baseline
- Throughput
- All passengers handled by the airport in a year — arrivals plus departures. A transfer passenger is counted twice: once arriving, once departing.
- Departing passengers
- Passengers leaving Hamad, including transfers, each counted once. Roughly half of throughput.
- Transfer passengers
- Passengers changing flights in Doha without entering Qatar. The majority of Hamad's traffic.
- O&D passengers
- Origin & Destination — passengers who begin or end their journey in Doha.
- Session
- One use of one trolley by one passenger — after security to the gate, or on arrival from baggage claim.
- Fee basis (A–D)
- What the service fee is counted on: A all passenger movements, B departing passengers, C O&D passengers, D actual trolley uses.
Sources: Hamad International Airport annual results 2024 and 2025. Derived figures are estimates. Fleet size and trolley usage at Hamad are not published.
Passenger service fee
Hamad charges a digital service fee per counted passenger to passengers or airlines (minimum $2). Genix receives a fixed $1 per passenger; Hamad keeps everything above it. Advertising and services come on top.

Pros & cons
Advertising
The advertiser (an exclusive ad company) holds all airtime not reserved for Hamad and sells it to brands. Genix is paid a fixed rate on all of the advertiser’s airtime. Hamad receives a share of the advertiser’s revenue after the Genix rate. The advertiser keeps the rest.

Parameter guide
Market reference. There is no global price per second: the industry prices screens per 1,000 impressions (CPM). Premium airport screens are quoted at about $35–85+ CPM (AdQuick, 2026); digital place-based screens in airports and malls at about $9–32 CPM (PJ Solomon). To convert: price per second ≈ CPM ÷ 1,000 × viewers per screen-second. Example: $35 CPM with about 0.1 viewers per second (a 15-second spot seen by about 1.5 people) ≈ $0.0035 per second, or $0.21 per minute, per trolley screen. Trolley-screen viewing rates are not yet measured.
Pros & cons
Value-added services
Duty free, dining, charging and entertainment sold through the platform. The platform earns a commission, shared between Hamad and Genix.

Pros & cons
Operating costs

What if Hamad is the advertiser?
Hamad sells the airtime to brands with its own advertising team, instead of appointing an ad company. Genix is still paid the same rate on all advertising airtime, so Genix’s result does not change — Hamad keeps the full advertising margin.
